Eating Healthy! It's not as hard as you think!

It's no secret that practicing healthy eating habits is the biggest hurdle that most people face. Between raising our families, our careers and the stress that comes along with everyday life, eating healthy usually takes the back seat in our lives. But it doesn't have to anymore!

Here are a few pointers to make things a bit easier:

  1. Meal Prep - I coach my clients to meal prep 2 times per week. This way it allows you to keep things fresh and exciting throughout the week. Meal prep doesn't have to be a long tedious task that you should dread each week. Meal prep is the most important part of living a healthy lifestyle so it is crucial that you truly designate time each week to not only prepare but learn. The more you practice meal prepping, the more you learn the easier it gets!

  2. Smoothies - Smoothies are a great way to curve cravings and get something quick in if you're on the go a lot. We utilize for our clients because they make extremely healthy smoothies that you just throw in a blender, add 3/4 cup of water, blend and enjoy! You get a perfect smoothie every time and there is minimal clean up! It doesn't get any better than that!

  3. Calorie Tracking - Calorie tracking doesn't and shouldn't be a life long task that you need to do in order to be healthy. The reasoning for calorie tracking is to LEARN how the foods you are eating affect you, your goals and your lifestyle. The quicker we focus and learn the faster you don't need to keep tracking! Before you know it you will know exactly what you need without even thinking about it! So remember calorie tracking is a temporary tool to help you learn and see what food really does for you!

  4. Hire a Coach - Hiring a coach is much more than them telling you what to eat and do. Hiring a coach is the perfect way to get the information you need and the support/accountability you need. During the learning process it is super important to bounce questions off of some reputable that can expedite the learning process. Again, the faster you learn the faster you see results!

  5. Food is Fuel - It's much easier to understand your eating habits when you understand that food is used for fuel for your body, not completely for enjoyment. Of course you can enjoy yourself from time to time, however the majority of the time it's FUEL for your body. The cleaner the fuel you give yourself the better you run day to day! Pretty simple concept right?

All in all, eating right is crucial to any living being and it should be approached first and foremost by anyone who is truly trying to make a lifestyle change and better their health. It will always seem difficult if it's always put on the back burner and you never take the steps required to learn. Just like anything else in life, the more you practice, the more you learn, the easier it gets!
